Northumberland & Newcastle Society

Getting Involved

The Northumberland and Newcastle Society is a voluntary Society and relies heavily on its members to volunteer their services. We always welcome new volunteers to help to do a job or replace those who have done their stint and would like to stand down for a while.

You don't need to be an expert. There are opportunities to help in a variety of ways. For example you could:

  • Keep us up-to-date with what is going on in your area
  • Use your skills on our committees
  • Contribute articles to the magazine
  • Support a campaign
  • Help to run an event or to raise funds

If you would like more information, please contact the Society Office on 0191 281 6266 or by email

Plea for a New Treasurer

John Laidler, our Hon. Treasurer, is retiring in June and we are looking for someone to fill this post. John emphasizes that this does not require an accountant, but someone who is comfortable with numbers and computers. If you are interested or know others who might be, please contact the office.
