Farewells and Hellos

Farewell to Ros – 9th December 2009

About 100 members were present for the Society farewell and presentation to our former Secretary Ros Hall on the occasion of her retirement after 15 years. She was given a beautiful crystal bowl and a cheque, with which she has subsequently realised a long held ambition to be a Lifetime member of the National Trust. In her speech of thanks Ros spoke of both challenging and rewarding times within the N&N during her watch . She spoke warmly of the many friends she has made, but her main credit was to the ordinary members, Committee members and Officers who work so tirelessly for the Society. She subsequently wrote personally to all those who had contributed to the cheque and the separate Committees who had given additional presents. We will miss you Ros, but…

Sue ran her own Garden Maintenance company and has held various voluntary secretarial positions, currently including the High Heaton Allotment Association. She looks forward to meeting members at Society events and to carrying forward the excellent work of the N&N.
